NAME: Quinn
AGE: 37
CONTACT:
CHARACTER(S): Olivia Haas
IC
NAME: Joon Yorigami
AGE: Around 300 (physically around 20)
CANON: Touhou Project
CANON POINT: Immediately following the events of Antimony of Common Flowers.
CRAU: N/A
OTHER: Age is headcanon, as no canon age has been provided.
SUITABILITY: Joon is already something of a hedonist. With her specific obsession with opulent wealth and status, the Golden Peacock may as well be tailor-made to tempt her into depravity. On a personal level, she's about as big of a contrast as possible with Olivia, opening my options up to a totally different set of kinks.
ABILITIES:
- Goddess of Pestilence: Being a Shinto goddess, this title isn't worth as much as it should be. She's a minor goddess, but that still means she's a metaphysical being, influenced by the faith of humans. At home, that means that she gains more power as more people respect and revere her, but in GP, for simplicity, that process is probably on hold. For now, this mostly means that she doesn't age.
- Spiritual power: A more direct manifestation of her power as a goddess. Joon can channel her divinity as a yellow flame-like aura, infusing attacks with supernatural power. She's capable of using it for magical attacks at a distance, but her specialty is close-ranged combat, knocking people around with yellow fist explosions. She can also channel it through objects, which she mostly uses to style on people, doing things like throwing stacks of cash infused with spiritual power as projectile weapons.
- Ability to Bring Financial Ruin: This is her most insidious power, and also the one that I'll be using the least, for godmoding reasons. Joon has the ability to influence people around her, causing them to believe more strongly that spending money recklessly will bring them happiness. Ideally, they'll spend it on her, but if not, they'll still spend it, until they're blown all their money on petty extravagance and luxury. The chief drawback is that this also influences herself, so she's constantly broke after blowing all her money on impulse buys. Of course, being a soft mind control ability, this can be resisted, and will only be used with explicit player permission on both ends.
VICES:
- Vanity: Joon loves herself, and it's not a secure, confident kind of love; she needs desperately for everyone else to know it. She's shallow and impulsive, blowing all her money on surface-level indicators of status, like flashy clothes and designer handbags. She doesn't need (or even particularly want) to be liked, but she wants people to know her and believe that she's a big deal. This insecurity manifests as an almost elemental weakness to temptation, jumping immediately at any chance to grandstand and be the center of attention.
- Greed: Despite her domain being pestilence, the manifestation of that domain is conspicuous consumption. Joon wants wealth, and will do anything to get it. She uses her powers to swindle people, outright steals, and constantly chases ill-advised get-rich-quick schemes to get what she wants. Since she's constantly spending her ill-gotten gains on cheap thrills, there's never enough money to satisfy her, meaning that her avarice goes on forever. She's constantly taking out loans, then doing what she can to stay one step ahead of the debt collectors.
- Cruelty: Plain and simple, Joon is an asshole. She insults people without a thought, even those closest to her - the most constant victim of her verbal abuse is her sister, the poverty goddess Shion. Even when in the middle of a scheme that relied on Shion's abilities, she constantly put her down, calling her weak, useless, annoying, smelly, and (worst of all) poor, going as far as telling Shion not to stand too close to her for fear of getting infected by her poor-person stink. This means, of course, that Joon is very unpopular; rather than this being a problem, she takes pride in it. Joon loves to boast that she's the most despicable, most hated person in all of Gensokyo, even getting upset when someone other than her is described as being more loathsome than her. There's no such thing as bad publicity...
VIRTUES:
If these seem like I'm reaching, it's because I'm reaching a bit. Joon is a bad person.
- Honesty: Other scoundrels might obscure their motives and try to worm their way into the good graces of their enemies. Joon never does this. She's very upfront with her plans and objectives, never hesitating to confirm herself as the villain she is. She's capable of deception, but doesn't care for it, because she'd rather revel in the truth than couch it in lies. She'll always tell you exactly what she's thinking, good or bad (usually bad), and won't try to couch any of it in platitudes. If you need someone to tell it like it is, Joon is a lot more reliable than you might expect.
- Potential for Good: After the Perfect Possession Incident, a defeated Joon was taken to a Buddhist temple to undergo spiritual training. She ended up running away and ditching them eventually, but before she did, a spark of a better person was revealed deep within her withered heart. When her back was to the wall, she admitted that she wanted to throw away her old self and live a new life of emotional fulfillment, and that gold and jewels didn't sparkle to her like they used to. Unfortunately, after one good deed, relapsed into her old ways and tried to become an oil baron, but hey, there's something of value in there. Deep, deep inside.
- Sense of Justice: Following the above incident, her behavior actually did change slightly. She still swindles and steals, but instead of indiscriminately targeting anyone she can, she's pivoted to targeting people who have money to burn. If she tears down the rich, then she's bringing ruin to someone who probably earned it, and still gets to have her fun while not being as much of a parasite to society. It's debatable whether she's doing this out of the good of her heart or because she doesn't want to get dragged back to Buddhist training again, but either way, the end result is that in her current mental state, she's most likely to target those who are already greedy bastards.
SURVEY
▶ I REGULARLY MAKE NEW FRIENDS.
▷ 1. It's up for debate if Joon even has any friends; any meaningful relationships she makes are purely by accident. Even when she's fond of someone, she's prone to treating them like garbage.
▶ SEEING OTHER PEOPLE CRY MAKES ME WANT TO CRY TOO.
▷ 1. At best, seeing other people cry makes her uncomfortable. At worst, it fills her with the satisfaction of a job well done.
▶ I OFTEN MAKE A BACKUP PLAN FOR A BACKUP PLAN.
▷ 1. Joon makes one plan, then gets so invested in it that not only does she not have a backup plan, but the notion that the plan might fail never even occurs to her until it's too late.
▶ I USUALLY STAY CALM, EVEN WHEN UNDER A LOT OF PRESSURE.
▷ 3. She does keep her cool when she's in danger, but it's usually less due to any talent at acting under pressure and more because she's so certain in her abilities that the idea that she might experince consequences doesn't occur to her in the first place.
▶ I AM VERY SENTIMENTAL.
▷ 2. There's a part of her that would rather find happiness in the humble, earnest joys of an honest life. Unfortunately, it's mostly drowned out by the part of her that wants to wave stacks of cash in the face of poor people.
▶ EVEN A SMALL MISTAKE CAN CAUSE ME TO DOUBT MY OVERALL ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE.
▷ 1. Joon has never doubted her overall abilities or knowledge in her entire life.
▶ I AM MORE INCLINED TO FOLLOW MY HEAD THAN MY HEART.
▷ 2. While she's capable of putting together pretty intricate plans, those plans are motivated by her desires more than her reason. Joon wants what she wants, and does whatever she has to do to get it, whether or not it's a good idea.
▶ I AM PRONE TO WORRYING THAT THINGS WILL TAKE A TURN FOR THE WORSE.
▷ 1. Absolutely not. Her ego is too inflated to anticipate a situation she can't handle.
▶ I ENJOY WATCHING PEOPLE ARGUE.
▷ 4. While it's secondary to her greed, Joon does enjoy watching chaos unfold, especially if it's chaos she caused. A vital part of any scheme is enjoying the antics of people who haven't yet realized that they're the victims.
▶ I TEND TO AVOID DRAWING ATTENTION TO MYSELF.
▷ 1. Couldn't disagree more! Joon wants to be in the spotlight. Nobody else should get a turn in it. All eyes on her, all the time, please.
▶ I OFTEN DO THINGS AT THE LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT.
▷ 3. If it's something she'll immediately benefit from, Joon won't put things off any longer than she needs to. If it's something she needs but doesn't want, she'll procrastinate like hell.
▶ I FIND IT EASY TO EMPATHIZE WITH A PERSON WHOSE EXPERIENCES ARE VERY DIFFERENT FROM MINE.
▷ 1. Honestly, even if someone had experiences very similar to hers, she'd still struggle to relate to them. She's too self-centered to feel the pain of others.
▶ I BECOME BORED OR LOSE INTEREST WHEN THE DISCUSSION GETS HIGHLY THEORETICAL.
▷ 4. Things you can hold are better than things you can't hold. Spiritual satisfaction is boring, piles of jewels are awesome. Or, at least, that's what she says, but some part of her does see the appeal.
▶ I RARELY FEEL INSECURE.
▷ 3. Joon is a creature of contrasts here. On the surface, she's the most self-assured person you've ever met, with unswerving confidence that everything is going to go her way. However, this is because of the insecurity deep inside her. She shines so brightly out of a fear of not being seen. In her heart of hearts, Joon does know that she's a phony, and goes to great lengths to hide that fact both from others and from herself.
▶ I AM STILL BOTHERED BY MISTAKES I MADE A LONG TIME AGO.
▷ 1. What mistakes?
Diamond: A sexual expression of her avarice. Want more, want now.
Spade: Rendered unstable by her hidden insecurities. Possibly an unexpected masochistic side.
RANK REQUESTS: As high as possible! How about Ace, do we have any Ace rooms open?

[ABILITIES]
Goddess of Pestilence: Possesses a healthy amount of spiritual energy. Accordingly, abnormally durable, capable of flight, and can launch spiritual attacks. She mostly specializes in short-range combat, but gets wacky with it, doing things like throwing out fistfuls (or briefcase-fuls) of paper money infused with spiritual power. Despite the title, does not actually cause disease.
Ability to Cause Financial Ruin: Can influence people magically to spend money recklessly. When under her power, people will believe much more than usual that spending money will bring them happiness, and accordingly will tend to splurge in excess, even if it puts them in debt.
[ABILITY PERMISSION]
The above ability is a soft mind control ability! Those are touchy in RP, so being affected by Joon's conspicuous consumption aura will go two ways: Either I ask you in advance, or it's opt-in. However, if you want to not deal with it, you can reply below and ask to be left out of the magical buy stuff radiation.
Or, if you want to get hit by it really bad, let's plot something.
